On June 23rd 2015 Showstars lost one of its youngest and most loved members. It was an incredibly sad and shocking time for Showstars, all our friends and work colleagues.
One of the key members of our crew.
Micah Maxwell-Milne was killed in a car crash in Baku, Azerbaijan whilst working on the European Games.
Micah was coming home from a night shift when the taxi he was travelling in was hit by a transit van. He died instantly. There were 3 other crew members and friends of Micah who were also injured in the accident.
Micah was the son of Operations Director Stuart Milne and HR Manager Jennifer Maxwell and brother of Saffron.
His loss is a tragedy for his family and the entire Live Events industry.
Micah had worked for Showstars since he was 18 years old and in the last 2 years since completing University was fast becoming a vital member of the Harvey Goldsmith Team, as well as Showstars.
Micah was 23 years old.
Our love and support will always go out to his family and friends.
The tragedy of losing Micah has deeply affected everyone who knew him. Showstars will be forever grateful to all our colleagues and crew members who helped over this incredibly difficult period.
Many sacrifices were made by a lot of people during this time and many jobs were completed in Micah's memory.
Micah will never be forgotten.
The backstage bar at On Blackheath Festival has been named after Micah and the 2016 London Show by Hans Zimmer was also dedicated to Micah. Micah was a Production Co-ordinator on both of these shows while working for Harvey Goldsmith Productions.
He worked for Showstars on many different events including London 2012, Sochi 2014, The Commonwealth Games in Glasgow and finally the European Games in Baku 2015.
He was known for his sense of humour, his unfailing work ethic and his ability to treat all people with the same respect.
He was a young man who loved life and lived it to the full. His loss will never be forgotten and his memory will forever be in our hearts.
"We'd do it all again for you man"
